The summer is full of appointments for art lovers: thanks to fairs and events, even during the vacations it is possible to make new art discoveries and have insights.
Here's a list of must-see events for the season, from Manifesta 14 in Kosovo to the Nomad fair, which this year will be held at the Certosa in Capri.
Kassel, from June 18 to September 25
The exhibition is back to its historic haedqurters in Kassel, after the usual 5 years of wait.
This year the edition is based on the concept of lumbung (Indonesian term for a communal rice barn), interpreted as an artistic and economic model by the Artistic Direction of Ruangrupa, the Jakarta-based artists’ collective.
Venice, from April 23 to November 27
Beside the kaleidoscope of international pavilions populating the Laguna, Venice is also animated by the 50. International Festival of Theatre, directed by Stefano Ricci and Gianni Forte.
From June 24 to July 3, the Festival program proposes shows involving the most important protagonists of the contemporary theatrical scene.

20 different villages in Italy, from June 25 to September 18
At its third edition, Una Boccata d’Arte is an open-air exhibition spread in 20 different villages thoughout Italy, from Valle d'Aosta to Sicily. 20 regions host 20 artists: the project, conceived by Fondazione Elpis in collaboration with Galleria Continua and with the participation of Threes Productions, promotes a coming together of contemporary art with the country’s artistic and scenic heritage.
Capri, from 6 to 10 July
The travelling fair builds a dialogue between art, architecture and design, with special attention to the choice of the location: following the previous edition in Saint Moritz, the current 6th edition is held at the Certosa of Capri, a XIV Century monastery with a view on the faraglioni.
Prishtina, from July 22 to October 30
Manifesta, the European Nomadic Biennal of Contemporary Art, for its 14th edition will be held in Prishtina, Kosovo. It will open its doors to the public on July 22, proposing a rich 100-day program, involving 102 participant artists in 25 different venues.
Monopoli, from 1 to 4 September
Organized by Italic Arts and curated by Vincenzo de Bellis, the city-wide exhibition follows the first edition of "Panorama" which was held in the island of Procida in 2021.
The exhibition offers to the public a contemporary art itinerary dialoguing with the city of Monopoli, its art, architecture and landscapes, and it is enriched with a programme of collateral events, perfomacens and special projects.
