TRIENNALE MILANO TURNS 100
PROGRAM 2023
2023 marks an important milestone for Triennale Milano, which celebrates the centenary of the first edition of the Biennale delle Arti Decorative which took place in 1923 in the park of the Villa Reale in Monza.
For the occasion, Triennale has organized a rich program of exhibitions, events and appointments throughout the year. Three major exhibition projects will mark this anniversary, retracing the history of this institution by intersecting the disciplines of design, architecture and art: Museo del Design Italiano (open again from April 15th), the exhibition Triennale. Home Sweet Home (from May to September) and the exhibition Pittura italiana (from October to January 2024).
Triennale’s exhibition calendar in 2023 will also give space to the masters of the Italian creative universe, with solo exhibitions dedicated to the Milanese architect, designer, sculptor and academic Angelo Mangiarotti, to the photographer Gabriele Basilico and to the architect and designer Ettore Sottsass. Also worth noting, is the focus on Italian artists Lisa Ponti and Anna Franceschini.
Among the upcoming events, Triennale also confirmed the return of the Milano Arch Week (May 2023) with a focus on the subject of the suburbs; the festival Fog Triennale Milano Performing Arts, (from February to May) which involves dozens of artists from all over the world and the events of Triennale Estate (from May to September), with talks, performances, concerts and screenings in the Giancarlo De Carlo Garden.
Closing this year of celebrations, the opening of Il Magnete (December 2023), a new memory and research space where visitors will have access to drawings, projects, photos, letters, texts from the Triennale Milano historical archive.
